Shankh is the symbol of Goddess Lakshmi who is the Goddess of Wealth. It is said that Maa Lakshmi resides in this shankh. Shankh are of many kinds like Dakshinavarti Shankh and is basically conch shell of the species Turbinella pyrum. This shankh is kept in puja and is not blown. It is believed to bring wealth, prosperity and calmness in the household of the devotee. It also removed negativity in the person who is performing puja of the conch shell.
