Shaligram Bhagwaan - Hayagriva Shaligram (Original from Gandak River, Nepal):

Shaligram ji is a fossilized stone brought from Gandaki river in Nepal. This is a beautiful and very rare shaligram of Hayagriva ji. It is most revered stone worshipped by Vishnu Bhakts. The original stone is light in weight and has shapes and orifices (holes) formed naturally by action of Vajra-Keeta over a period of 5000 years.

It is considered that Shaligram stones were formed millions of years ago when Himalayas were still the ocean's floor.

They are worshipped in temples and families all over the world, as they are considered to be the visual representation of God Vishnu. It is highly auspicious to worship Shaligram ji in religious functions like Satyanarayan Puja, house warming (Griha Pravesh),marriages and other pujas and holy occasions.

This is a Hayagriva Shaligram. This shaligram represents Hayagriva avatar of Lord Vishnu. It has marks like a tractor tyre tread which resemble Lord Hayagrive shape.

Note that since Shaligrams are more than 5000 years old, they are not shiny and perfect- if you get a shiny piece from someone, it means it is a fake one. It should look like a 5000 year old ancient piece under water.
