New Delhi, the capital of India is famously known as Dilwalo-ki-Dilli. It is a city known for its historical importance. • Akshardham Temple

At the upmost comes the beautiful Akshardham Temple. This temple is much more than worship. The architecture of this temple is famous which adds glory to this place. It is situated on NH-24. It is one of the top well maintained temples in Delhi. Rich collection of Indian culture is found here . This glorified temple pays homage to Lord Swaminarayan. This is the largest Hindu temple in world. It has splendid gardens, theaters, hall, light shows. The specialty is that no metal has been used in the construction of this temple only marbles were used.

• Hanuman Mandir

Another ancient temple found in Connaught place is Hanuman Mandir. Connaught place is heart of Delhi. This temple was reconstructed by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1724. It is one of the most popular place of worship. The main deity of this temple is Lord Hanuman. It is said that he protects us in danger. This temple has idols of Lord Rama also. This temple is mentioned in Guinness book of records for continuous chanting of ‘Sri Ram, Jai Ram’.

• Gauri Shankar Temple

Yet another temple lies in heart of Delhi, Chandni Chowk known as Gauri Shankar Temple. It was built by a soldier who once vowed to construct the Gauri Shankar temple if he managed to survive after the war. It is also believed that Shiva-Linga or Phallus residing in shrine is 800 years old. This temple has the silver painting of goddess Parvati , Ganesh and kartik.

• Sai Baba Temple

Where every famous place is signified by glorified deities, Lodhi road is embraced by Sai baba Temple. It is a very simple temple. A big idol of Sai baba sits in the main hall. Chadar and flowers are offered at Idol. This temple is built roadside so people offer their prayers regularly. One can see the idol from road. The idol is built of marble. This temple was registered in 1968.

• Kalkaji Temple

Replica of Vaishno Devi is located at kalkaji Temple. The bricks of this temple were laid in 1764. It is believed that worshiping the Goddess helps attain all the desires. People come and bend their heads to show gratitude. Devotees attend the Kalkaji temple throughout the year, but the culmination point of their prayers and celebration comes during the festival of navratri twice a year. It is believed that a millions of years ago, the God’s who dwelt in the neighbourhood of the present temple were troubled by two giants and were compelled to prefer their complaint to Lord Brahma, 'the god of all'. But Lord Brahma declined to interfere, and referred them to the Goddess Parvati.
